The Semiotics of Urban Safety and Peacebuilding
This project, conducted in collaboration with my colleague Oliver Jütersonke, brings state of the art theoretical insights to the study of urban safety and peacebuilding schemes. The goals are both scientific and practical: improving programming initiatives through a deeper understanding of the conceptual and operative frameworks governing urban governance and peacebuilding. The project has produced the following outputs thus far:
∴ A white paper published by the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform and distributed via the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) to thousands of practitioners and scholars working in the field. Available here, with Oliver Jütersonke.
∴ A forthcoming chapter in an edited volume (Urban Safety and Peacebuilding, Wennmann, A. (Ed), London: Routledge), with Oliver Jütersonke.
∴ A forthcoming short monograph to be submitted to Verso Books, Oliver Jütersonke.
